Gracie is officially crawling!

A couple of weeks ago Gracie really started getting the hang of the who crawling thing. She is so proud of herself and I love to see that. I tried and tried to get a good video of it, but they all came out something like this...

Basically it is hard to capture poor little Gracie with the others around. They just have so many tricks to preform, jokes to tell, songs to sing, etc. for the camera. Oh well. I guess this is the kind of thing I need to document so that when she gets to do something the other ones never did as I teenager I can say..."Well, I never got a good video of her first crawling 'steps' like I did for you." It all evens out in the end. Right?

The App is free and you get a free movie and cheap pizza out of it...what have you got to lose? Please check it out and download it today...

The boys are literally climbing the walls...

Enough said.

Pink Popcorn Popping...

It's that time of the year again--Time to throw the kids up in the tree and celebrate the beautiful pink blossoms lining the driveway. Gracie obviously is not thrilled to learn about the tradition, but Kate LOVES the pink and is happy to help by posing. As for the boys...they are used to my photo shoots by now and know not to fight it. So, here you have it...Spring blossoms 2010!

Our latest discipline strategy...

Recently Owen and Davis were having a lot of trouble getting along and I don't know about you, but I get SO TIRED of hearing, "he's not being nice to me..." AHHH! So around the first of the year I implemented this technique. I told the boys that if they cannot get along I will handcuff them together until they learn to work together. They HATE it as is obvious by Owen's death look above, but let me tell you...it works. I am waiting for Supernanny to call for permission to use my approach. And now you see Owen the cowboy...he was playing cowboys one day and I looked at him and said, "What is on your face?" He calmly replied that he had used pen to make himself into a villain with evil eyebrows. Nice.

Roger that!

I know I have talked about Davis' remarkable sense of style in the past, but on Sunday he really put together an ensemble that was too good to pass up. Jed took this photo of him and I had to share it. His thing right now is to wear gloves with everything. Here you will see that he is sporting his Diego work gloves...stylish and handy, eh? He is also loving the rain boots. I like to think of rain boots as flip flops for the winter...so easy to get on and off. I have to admit that I love them for him too. :)

Another thing about Davis is that he and Owen (but I think Davis started it) say "Roger that!" or "Copy that!" in place of "ok" when you ask them to do something...."Davis, please go turn off the light." "Roger that!"..."Owen, go wash up for dinner." "Copy that!"...cracks me up. Maybe they really will be in the Air Force or something someday.

Bubbles

Ever since Gracie started blowing raspberries Owen has called her "Bubbles". I think it is a cute nickname. Equally as cute was the scene on Sunday when Owen was teaching her how to blow bubbles....I love these moments. By the way...look at Gracie's thighs!

Kate's latest

Kate is currently loving anything that twirls and reminds us daily that she is a princess or a fairy!

A few weeks ago I saw Kate using scissors (they were kid scissors) to cut something. Then I realized that she was cutting a picture that Owen had drawn. I told her to stop and explained that if she wanted to cut some paper that was fine, but we don't cut other people's artwork. Then she turned to me and said, "Owen's not being nice to Davis, so I cut his picture." Oh my! I stood there amazed. Really? Could my 2 year old already act with such vengeance.

Then a few nights later I was going out with some girlfriends. I quickly got ready and asked Kate, who of course was at my feet the whole time, "How do I look?", to which she responded, "Perfect!" Suddenly she was back on the list of sweetest little girls in this world.

Two nights ago Jed went to play soccer. Whenever Jed goes to play Kate asks, "Daddy, you go play soccer ball?" I love that. I think she gets confused because we do say that we go play "basketball" so why not "soccer ball"?

Kate is still in love with Dora the Explorer and honestly is the only show she watches.
